Elevation

Atlanta, Georgia's Elevation are on the verge of blowing up. The band, made up of Nathan Smith (Vocals), Andrew Aversion (Lead Guitar), Anthony Pasqualone (Guitar), Nick Whitson (Bass) and Stephen Bailey (Drums), first caught my attention with their infectious single "Razoreyes"; the smash single from their debut album Strangelove that reminded me of Maroon 5 meets All-American Rejects.

Riding the wave of success that Strangelove brought them,  Elevation began recording their second LP in the summer of 2010. Not wanting to work through traditional studio sessions, the band decided to self-produce their second LP in a studio they built from the ground up in a warehouse in East Atlanta. From the start, the band decided that the record would be completely self-produced. As Nathan states, “We've all been through the traditional studio process many times. For me, there has never been a time when everyone is completely comfortable. We knew we could produce and engineer the record on our own, but wanted a place that was ours, decorated by us and built for our needs.” Andrew Averso on the album: “The songs really embody the process of making this record and emotions that have been welling up in all of us during the last year or so.”

The resulting product, Hell or High Water was produced exclusively by Elevation, mixed by CJ Eiriksson (U2, Matchbox Twenty, Jack's Mannequin) and mastered by Jeff Litpon (Arcade Fire, Wilco, LCD Soundsystem). Nathan Smith acted as the album's executive producer. Hell or High Water was released in the US on June 7.

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Elevation is taking the country by storm with the release of their debut album, Strangelove. Dubbed one of the top ten indie bands to watch in 2009 (Muchmusic.com), Elevation continues to develop a repertoire that is unforgettable.

Strangelove was recorded in Atlanta and released by 50 Records/SONY/RED. The album was produced by Dan Hannon (Manchester Orchestra, King Konga, Aaron Shust) and mastered by Grammy Award winner Adam Ayan (Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Incubus).

Elevation's first single off of the new album, “Razoreyes,” was re-mixed by Mark Endert, a superstar producer who has worked with Madonna, The Fray, and Maroon 5.

With 2009 well underway and a new album in tote, Elevation continues to grow into a superlative rock band. On the heels of returning from a month long tour in the Middle East with Armed Forces Entertainment, Elevation has released their debut music video for “Razoreyes” starring Kimberly Stewart. Recently, the video won MTVu's Best Freshmen video competition and is featured in regular on-air rotation.
